Sock boots are one of those current trends that I wasn’t sure about at first. But the more pairs I saw made me realize just how versatile the look it, and just how many variations there are. Slim or chunky heels. Leather, velvet, faux, and embroidered. Super fitted or slouchy. This look is about to be all over the place this winter – which side of the fence are you on?
FashionABLE, a lifestyle brand I’ve long supported and even collaborated with on product design, is now ABLE. They’re still focused on ending generational poverty by working with women who have overcome extraordinary circumstances. And still manufacturing directly in the communities they wish to impact, both locally and globally, creating jobs, and ending the cycle of charity dependency.
ABLE just released their latest collection, right on time for all of those holiday events you’re sure to attend and chock full of perfect gifts to give too. I recently picked up a cropped sweatshirt, loafers, a backpack, and a pair of statement earrings to help round out my winter wardrobe. Most pieces are available in several colors and everything is right on trend. In fact, I might have an eye on a few more things for my Christmas list!
There’s no better way to dive into the holidays than just ripping off the bandaid. So here we go! Between all of those get togethers and events on the calendar this month and next you’re probably going to be in need of a few solid wardrobe staples to get you through. Whether you want to go all out in a dress and heels or keep it casual in pants and loafers, we’re here for you with shoes, accessories, dresses, and separates in spades.
While I prefer to call it goldenrod (because ew, mustard), I think its’s pretty much a potAto/potAHto situation and either way I love it. As I was gathering resources I realized that the only item I own in this color – whatever you want to call it – is a throw blanket. Might need to rectify that sooner than later!
Emerald green has long been one of my favorite colors and I’m so happy to see it’s having a moment this autumn! I love how interiors and fashion often intersect like they are for this trend and can’t wait to take advantage and add a few pieces in this rich, deep hue to my home and closet.
Seems like wherever you turn this autumn there’s something velvet! Along with embroidery it definitely appears to be one of the hottest trends, both in the home and in fashion. There’s no denying the fabric’s luxe appeal or the level of comfort it can bring to chillier weather, but what are your feeling – are you on board?
Fall trends are emerging, and high atop the list is embroidery. Every article of clothing from shoes to shirts is fair game for brightly colored thread and pattern – and I dig it. I also dig that it would easy to DIY something you already own with an appliqué to mimic the look. (Always a bonus.)
If you recall, I’m acting as a Sole Sister for Sseko this entire year! As a Sseko Sole Sister I’ve been connected to one university-bound woman on Sseko’s team in Uganda to help her reach her educational goals – and with every purchase made through our shared link sales will go towards her university scholarship.
Sseko recently launched their fall/winter 2017 collection and I wanted to share it with you. There are so many great staples to get you sartorially through the next few months, quite a few I’m eyeing to give as gifts this holiday season. First off, Sseko has launched an apparel line! Highly curated, the first season includes shawls, dusters, kimonos, and scarves.
They’ve also expanded their beautiful bags into the realm of travel. Four styles of varying size have all the space you need to make it through an overnight or a long weekend, and if you’re a light packer (or the weather is warm) you may even be able to fit a week’s worth.
Of course there are also some seasonal additions to Sseko’s already impressive collection of leather bags. Mulberry is shaping up to be this fall’s hot color and they made sure to include it – I’ve been carrying around the bucket bag below during errands for a few weeks and have received so many compliments.
The Fall/Winter 2017 Collection is a celebration of strength and resiliency. We are women who know that a dream without a plan, without action is merely a wish. We fall and fail because we are done playing small. We do hard things because we see the gap between the way things could be. We stand in the gap, we face the darkness and know that when we emerge we will be stronger and more resilient versions of who we are created to be. We do not just survive, but thrive.
