Back At It

I am in a constant state of missing school. I wasn’t a straight A student (more like an A-B 50/50 split), it’s the learning I miss. The bottomless well to draw from, especially in college where there were so many options from which to choose. I’m also a school and office supply junky, I doubt there’s ever been a kid (or adult) quite as enthusiastic when the big box stores roll out their masses of back-to-school inventory. Most years I limit myself to buying a fresh notebook or set of highlighters, just to satisfy the itch. But if I were to be a little more adult about it, I’d take this opportunity to freshen up my office space. Maybe with a few of these.

Clockwise from top left:
An illustrated Lined Paper Notepad for important notes and messages.
From the Desk Of cards to jot out quick thank yous.
Monthly Sticky Notes to keep my schedule in order.
Yellow highlighter ink because it’s more fun than a regular pen!
This backpack from Herschel Supply Company for Madewell because, well, I want one.

What are your favorite must-have supplies?

Smock

PHOTOS: Stacy Newgent

I’ve been a fan of Smock for as long as I can recall, literally since I became acquainted with the wonderful world of progressive stationery. The Syracuse, NY based company prints on an army of 20 antique presses powered by wind energy and even offers luxury bamboo paper. They’re bent on being the greenest they can be and succeeding wildly at their endeavor.

Recently Smock joined forces with photographer Stacy Newgent to capture the look of some of their recently released everyday products (gorgeously printed boxes, gift wrap, greeting cards, notebooks, and more). I own a few of the small boxes and they’re some of my favorite things in my home studio. Bright, clean patterns are a constant theme throughout their entire line. I can’t get enough of it!

Back-to-School

Clockwise from upper left: MUCU large blank notebook, Lisa Stickley classic pencils, russell + hazel yummy folder set, russell + hazel mini binder, Lisa Stickley classic day book, russell + hazel index notebook

I’m such a big nerd, every August I miss school so much! I always need to be learning something or tackling a new project to avoid feeling stagnant. But in all honesty my favorite part is shopping for new school supplies. I’d love to pick up the beauties above for the next big thing I’ve got up my sleeve!

ARWEY

ARWEY was kind enough to send me one of their well-thought out, well-designed notebooks. Being the multi-tasker that I am, I went with the Lewitt in bright red. (Although maybe I should have gone with the fuchsia. Oh, decisions.) The set-up is really nice. On the left of the trifold is a blank paged notebook, the center houses an expandable pocket along with a pen/holder and business card slot, and on the right sits a lined notebook. The entire thing binds together nicely with the aid of an elastic band. I think my favorite part is the vivid canvas cover – it makes the entire thing tougher for me to lose in my bag, a job in itself. ARWEY just launched their new site with lots and lots of fantastic notebooks and organizational tools, check it out.

Botanical Notebooks

Ever since Rifle Paper Co. offered up a sneak peek of their upcoming notebooks and stationery a few months ago, I’ve been chomping at the bit. And as usual when it comes to Rifle, I’m even more impressed than I’d originally anticipated. Neither is for sale just yet, but you can get your pre-order in so you’ll be one of the firsts! Looking forward to filling my set with my declining handwriting.
