Long story short: I can’t eat meringue because it makes my tongue itch. (An egg white allergy? Who knows.) But I think it’s so luxurious looking and love the idea of it, so much so that I want to make some for others to enjoy at some point. Have you had it? Do you love it? Here are twelve delicious looking recipes to investigate.

August means back-to-school and school means rice krispie treats – it’s simple math really. When I was in elementary school few kids had crazy food allergies like today, so it was always exciting when one of my classmates had a birthday and their parents sent along a classroom treat to celebrate. My favorite was always rice krispie treats. I loved their texture and the sticky way they pull apart, and I still do. Check out these twelve recipes for some creative takes on the classic!

Muesli, aka raw oatmeal, came into my life several years ago on a business trip. I was looking for the healthiest option at the hotel’s grab and go breakfast and went for it, having no idea what I was eating other than cold oatmeal. But I really liked it and noticed how it kept me full for a long time, atypical for breakfast foods and my body. I’ve since made muesli for myself and am always looking for ways to mix it up and take advantage of seasonal fruit to add in. Check out these twelve recipes and let me know, are you a fan?

Always with Butter is food, photos, recipes, and life written by Julie Marie Craig. She doesn’t post terribly often, but when she does trust me that it’s oh so worth your time.
Joy the Baker has been one of my favorite food blogs for years, not just the moment. If you’re not already familiar, she’s a self-taught baker who’s all too relatable in her writing and all too drool-inducing in the recipes she creates.
Kitchen Konfidence is another site that’s been a quiet and steady source of cooking inspiration. Brandon creates some the most epic cocktails, desserts, and so much more.
Love & Lemons is run by couple Jeanine and Jack, and it’s a great site full of mainly vegetarian recipes. Everything is bright and seasonal – perfect if you’re trying to eat healthy or just enjoy the harvest.
Tartelette was very likely one of the first food blogs I started following years and years ago. Former pastry chef Helene Dujardin perfectly captures her beautifully seasonal recipes – many gluten-free – in words and photos.
A picnic menu staple for decades, yup it’s pasta salad. But not the unappetizing kind covered in gobs of mayonnaise that makes you nervous whether it’s been out in the sun for too long. No sir, these twelve are the creative kind that will have everyone asking for the recipe.

I had my first experience with matcha a few years ago in a tea shop in Oklahoma City. So what is the stuff exactly? Matcha is a finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea. Now that’s not so intimidating, right? Turns out you can make all kinds of delicious things with it besides tea and lattes, too. Read on for twelve of them.

One evening this past winter I was craving something sweet but not too terrible for me when I fell down the rabbit hole that is mug cakes. Single-servings of cake that can be made with a few simple ingredients from your pantry and cooked in the microwave for a few minutes – instant gratification!
