A Kick in the Pants.

These are hilarious and I totally needed it this morning! You know how some people just suck? Really bad? Here are three things that can help you feel better about it. Even if it’s just a little bit.

The first is from youparklikeanasshole.com (clever address, no?). Sick of a car taking up two spaces on the street? How about a car too close to yours? What about the car at the mall parked diagonally? Now you can do something about it. Simply download a notice and place it on the car’s windshield. The owner of the vehicle will be informed of their asshole status as well as the proper tips to improve their poor parking techniques. It’s time to put an end to asshole parking, or at least to make fun of it. The site is pretty clever, too, you can download the notices as well post and view notices in action.

The second is from Coudal’s Cell Phone Etiquette campaign. We’ve all had that awkward moment when we overhear someone’s personal cell phone conversation. Now we have the power to stop it. You can download them here.

The third is the all-encompassing Douche Card from Orange32. Stock up. 25 cards for $5.

Monday Goodness: Found.

Today I totally had a Case of the Mondays.

Then I came across Found Magazine. They collect found stuff (duh): love letters, birthday cards, kids’ homework, to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, doodles– anything that gives a glimpse into someone else’s life. Anything goes. I could literally spend hours digging through the archives (and probably will later on). Check it out because it’s well worth your time.

Farewell, Jane.

I read some sad new online today – one of my very favorite magazines, Jane, will no longer be published after August. It debuted in September 1997 and I’ve been a loyal reader ever since. It was edgy and as indie as you can be in a mainstream kind of way. It always featured amazing women (re: Drew Barrymore, Zooey Deschanel, etc), fantastic music reviews, and great ideas. Jane will be greatly missed by me and all of her readers!

Vinotes.

These Vinotes are really cool. They even won a design award in HOW magazine a few years back. Basically if you want to give a bottle of wine as a gift, you slip one of these around the neck and make it a little more fun and personal than just handing someone a bottle in a brown paper bag. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that – wine is wine.) There are around twenty different Vinotes available, each for a different purpose or occassion. The front of the note has three check boxes you can select from, while the back has room for a little personalized note. Example: Bon: Appétit; Voyage; Jovi rocks. Enjoy!

When it Rains, it Pours.

It’s been raining for roughly the past month here in Oklahoma. It’s like we have our own mini-hurricane that just keeps circling the state.

Everyone (and I mean everyone) is complaining. “I can’t keep up with their lawn.” “This is summer in Oklahoma for “christake.” It’s not supposed to rain, it’s supposed to be 100 degrees and bone dry.” “I’ve only been to the lake once and it’s almost July.” “My basement won’t stop flooding!”

Okay, I can almost sympathize with that last one, but I for one am enjoying it. It reminds me of growing up in Pennsylvania and summers at my grandparent’s house. Of early morning and, cheesily enough, picking blueberries at the edge of their yard. Basically, this weather is suiting me just fine and it can hang around for a little while longer if I have any say in the matter.
