Wishin’ And Hopin’.

I wish this were me for two reasons.

1. It’s 100º here today. And while that’s extremely hot (and icky) it seems like a phenomenal day to scorch myself on the beach.

2. I’d have this smokin’ hot bod.

7 Deadly Glasses.

I’d drink my wine out of a Dixie cup if I had to, but these 7 Deadly Glasses certainly provide a more interesting alternative, no?

These red wine glasses are based on the 7 deadly sins. Each glass encapsulates a sin, which is revealed through the ritual of drinking. The ‘7 Deadly Glasses’ are about celebrating passion and encouraging the user to be sinful in a theatrical fashion.

The Daily Eat: Crab Quiche.

This marks the very first time something other than a fruit or vegetable has been showcased on The Daily Eat. Seafood seems best suited to summertime with its light, flaky textures and their veritable platter of opportunities. I debated about having one week only devoted to Seafood, but when I looked at all the recipes I have marked realized there’s no way that I could share all I wanted under just one banner. Crab happens to be my favorite, so I hope you enjoy!

This crab quiche recipe is super simple – you use store-bought crust! – and can be easily changed up to suit other main ingredients (i.e. veggies, ham, etc.). I love the idea of little pops of flavor from the succulent pieces of crab mixed into the fluffy egg mixture.

Merci.

Two BIG thank you’s I want to hand out before anything else this week.

1. To Wrappables. For extending an invitation to me a few weeks back to post on their product design blog That’s a Wrap. You can check out my article on eco-chic items I love right here.

2. To Stationary Trends magazine. For including Design Crush in their To Blog or Not to Blog? article and to Kati (of The Finer Things) for giving me the heads up! Other blogs included were Creature Comforts, The Finer Things, One Good Bumblebee, Design*Sponge, Decor8, Print + Pattern, Poppytalk, Design for Mankind, Hostess with the Mostess, Tastefully Entertaining, Style Me Pretty and Design is Mine. The author of the article, Christienne de Tournay Birkhahn, put together some of my favorite blogs and bloggers. Thanks, Christienne!

I had crazy Saturday filled with over twelve hours of unpacking only to wake up Sunday feeling like the bottom of someone’s shoe. My sinuses were incredibly unhappy with me, so much so that I even missed work yesterday. And I hate missing work – I always feel like my boss is going to think I’m playing hooky or something! Anyway, I’m back today and slowly crawling out of my sinus headache-induced black hole.

Happy Weekend.

Wow. That’s all I can say about the past week because it has been one ginormous blur. I know I keep saying it, but I can’t thank you all enough for all the warm wishes, congratulations, advice, etc. It’s made the house buying process that much sweeter! I promise to be more focused next week, but in the meantime have an amazingly beautiful summer-filled weekend.

This Weekend:
• um, unpack more: finish kitchen and move on to living room
• buy shelving for the garage (holy crap – I have a garage!)
• find better (RE: more modern) house numbers
• sleep, cause I haven’t been doing much of that

Stirrings Cocktail Sodas.

Stirrings makes some tasty cocktail mixers, but who knew they also make a line of cocktail sodas created specifically to be paired with spirits? Me neither. I’ve always loved the design of their bottles and like how they really let the product speak louder than anything else. But I’m a little in love with the soda packaging and candy-like colors. How sweet would a row of these look adorning your “bar”?
