Fine, I’ll play along with the latest flickr madness. You can, too. Just do a search for the year you were born and see what shows up!
I couldn’t choose just one.

I la-la-love these secondomes. I’ve always liked cloches, but thought they were a bit stuffy. I love how these are so much fun and almost cartoon-like in their design. The handles are the best part!

Posted In accessories, house and homeThe Watermelon Wave looks perfectly summery. I could use one. Stat!
Ingredients:
– 4 oz Tequila
– 3 oz GranGala Triple Orange Liqueur
– 3 oz Stock Maraschino Liqueur
– 20 oz Fresh Watermelon Juice
– 2 oz Pomegranate Juice
– 2 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
Garnish: Watermelon wedge
To make fresh watermelon juice, place fresh watermelon without seeds in a juicer or a blender and mix well until smooth.
Mix all the ingredients together in a pitcher and stir. Strain the mixture into goblets over ice. Garnish with cubes of watermelon on cocktail picks or a wedge perches on the glass.

Posted In cocktailsI’m dying to attempt a granita. I don’t think it could get any easier than this watermelon granita and talk about a healthy dessert? This is probably as close as it gets.

Posted In recipesSome people don’t have everyday tableware that’s as nice as WASARA. And it’s made of paper. Aesthetically pleasing, well-designed paper. Because even though each piece can only be used once before being discarded, everything is made from reed pulp and bagasse (sugarcane waste) which are most definitely biodegradable. Yet at the same time WASARA is still extremely sturdy and durable while in use. Lovely design, lovely product.

Posted In recipesI’m obsessed with the Olympics, but they’re absolutely horrible for my sleeping habits! I don’t want to miss anything so I stay up. And then the next day? Yup, you guessed it, I’m at about 25%.
If I could toss the Handpresso in my bag I’d be golden. It’s a portable espresso machine that you operate with a pump, not a plug. Love it.
Posted In grand design, kitchenThe So Chic Wines site is in french. And I don’t read french. But what I can tell you is that they have some lovely packaging. And that starting in September 2008 you’ll be able to purchase this insanely cool trio of samples housed in test tubes. If you need more information you’ll have to look up the online translator, which at the moment I’m too lazy to do myself!

Posted In cocktails, packagingWatermelon is the quintessential summer fruit in my mind. Even if raspberries, strawberries and all the others don’t hang around all year they’re usually available in the freezer section. Not watermelon – so get it while you can!
Watermelon? In a cheesecake? Oh yeah.
